Saturated in stories, and treasured for its wildlife, the north Northumberland coast is a wild and dramatic landscape. Joe Crowley celebrates the 60th anniversary of the National Nature Reserve at Lindisfarne, joining the ranger team protecting nesting ringed plover on the shore. He also heads down the coast to the site of an old opencast coal mine that's being transformed into a haven for nature. Sammi visits a local smokehouse that's been serving kippers for nearly 170 years, tries her hand at preparing some herring, and learns how the fortunes of fishing have changed in the area. We also follow one of the oldest "ways" in the country, walking in the footsteps of pilgrims at low tide around Holy Island. Adam is in Oxfordshire, meeting a farmer exploring whether a pasture-based system can work for dairy goat milk production. Joe also investigates how high groundwater is overloading sewage infrastructure and causing river pollution in some parts of the countryside.
